Working closely with senior stakeholders, boards and business leaders, you'll deliver financial insights, support governance processes, and contribute to effective reporting and decision-making that strengthens organisational performance.
- Full time continuing opportunity | 36.25 hours per week
- Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus
- Successful candidate must be based in Townsville or willing to relocate before commencement.
- HEWL 8: $111,960.56 - $128,567.19 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation
ABOUT THE ROLE This role sits at the intersection of finance, governance and strategic support. As the Business Services Accountant, you'll oversee the financial reporting and governance activities of JCU's controlled entities, ensuring accurate financial information, robust compliance practices and effective board operations. From preparing financial and management reporting to coordinating governance cycles and company secretariat activities, you'll help provide the information, insights and support needed for confident decision-making across the portfolio.
You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the consistency, efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and governance practices.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
You are a financially astute and highly organised professional who can confidently navigate complex accounting, reporting and governance environments. You bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement and the ability to translate financial information into clear and meaningful insights for a range of stakeholders. Your collaborative approach, communication skills and ability to build productive relationships will enable you to work effectively with boards, business leaders and colleagues, while balancing competing priorities and maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement.
