About the role

Canvas Espresso is seeking an experienced Café Chef to join our team in Palm Beach, QLD 4221. This is a full time position that sits at the heart of our café operation, where you will be working closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team to produce consistently high quality dishes for our local community. You will play a vital role in maintaining our culinary standards, helping to develop new, seasonal menu offerings, and ensuring that every dish that leaves our kitchen reflects our commitment to quality and innovation.

Your expertise and passion for food will be instrumental in establishing Canvas Espresso as a destination for outstanding café cuisine.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a diverse range of café-style dishes, including breakfast items, brunch specials, salads, sandwiches, and daily specials to our established standards
- Oversee all food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating to ensure consistency, quality, and visual appeal across all menu items
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations and Canvas Espresso standards
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and provisions, liaising with suppliers to ensure quality ingredients are available and costs are controlled
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food handling regulations, maintaining documentation as required

What we're looking for

- Minimum 2-4 years' experience as a chef or cook,



with proven expertise in café or contemporary cuisine
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, kitchen equipment operation, and food safety practices
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently during peak service periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
