Our team will deliver contemporary, patient-centred care in a brand-new Cardiac Hybrid Theatre, expanded Cardiology Ward and dedicated Cardiac Investigations Unit.
About us
This is an exciting time to join Cardiac Services at Rockhampton Hospital as we strengthen our position as a major cardiac referral hub for Central Queensland and work towards becoming a regional centre of excellence for cardiac care.
Our major cardiac expansion brings together a new state-of-the-art Cardiac Hybrid Theatre, expanded Cardiac Investigations Unit and dedicated Cardiology Ward, increasing access to specialist cardiac services and helping more Central Queenslanders receive care closer to home.
The Cardiac Investigations Unit works closely with medical, nursing, technical and operational teams to deliver comprehensive cardiac diagnostic and interventional services. Our new Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory supports coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary interventions, with further expansion of cardiac services planned as our capability continues to grow.
Join a growing multidisciplinary cardiac team where you can bring your specialist CCL radiography expertise to contemporary facilities, contribute to the development of an expanding regional service and make a genuine impact on cardiac care for Central Queensland.
About the role
As the CCL Radiographer Senior, you will deliver high-level, independent radiography within Rockhampton Hospital's CCL, working across diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures including PCI and pacing.
You will work autonomously within the CCL while collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care. As a senior clinician, you will also provide clinical advice, education and supervision, contribute to quality improvement and clinical governance, and act as a Radiation Safety Assistant within the CCL.
The role also participates in on-call requirements as the service supports emergency cardiac care.
About you
You will be confident working independently within the CCL environment, exercising professional judgement across complex cases and contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary cardiac team. You'll also bring strong communication and leadership skills and a commitment to clinical education, radiation safety, quality improvement and developing others.
You must hold a relevant tertiary qualification and current AHPRA registration/accreditation, together with a licence, or eligibility to obtain a licence, to use diagnostic radiation apparatus in Queensland.
