Casual Chef | Knox Grammar School

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Casual Chef to join our school catering team.

This is a great opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a structured kitchen environment and takes pride in preparing fresh, quality food for students and staff.

Working as part of the kitchen team, you will assist with the daily preparation, cooking and service of meals while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the preparation and cooking of daily meals and menu items
- Support kitchen team with daily operations
- Prepare food in accordance with recipes, menus and dietary requirements
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen management procedures
- Assist with stock control, storage and rotation of ingredients
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Support the team with catering for school events and functions when required

About You We are looking for someone who:

- Has previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment




- Holds a relevant culinary qualification or is working towards one
- Has a genuine interest in preparing quality food
- Understands food safety and hygiene requirements
- Can follow recipes and work to established menus
- Is organised, reliable and works well as part of a team
- Has good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Is comfortable working around children and within a school environment
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and professional kitchen
