Senior Accountant/Manger needed for a practice in Wollongong

Your new role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Manager or Senior Accountant to join a high-performing team. Working with a diverse client portfolio, you will be responsible for delivering taxation, compliance and advisory services while building solid relationships with business owners and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:

- Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
- Managing taxation and compliance obligations across various entity structures
- Preparation and review of BAS and related reporting requirements
- Providing taxation advice and assisting with tax planning strategies
- Working closely with SME and family-owned business clients
- Assisting with business structuring, CGT and Division 7A matters
- Liaising with clients, professional advisers and regulatory bodies
- Reviewing and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
- Managing client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value




- Utilising cloud-based accounting platforms including Xero

What you'll need to succeed

- Minimum 5 years' Australian public practice accounting experience
- Strong technical taxation and compliance knowledge
- Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
- Experience working with companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills
- Experience using Xero and associated practice management software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your portfolio
- CA or CPA qualification (completed or in progress) will be highly regarded
