We are seeking a qualified and experienced Trainer & Assessor to deliver and assess one or more of the following units:
SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety
SITXFSA006 – Participate in safe food handling practices
SITHFAB025 – Prepare and serve espresso coffee
HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID01 – Provide first aid
We are looking for candidates with suitable industry experience and networks to assist in growing and maintaining these training portfolios within our growing Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
About the role
You'll deliver engaging, compliant training and assessment to a diverse student cohort, ensuring all sessions meet ASQA Standards for RTOs and reflect current industry practice. Sessions may be delivered face-to-face, online, or in a blended format depending on client needs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver training and conduct assessment across your area(s) of currency, in line with NV College's Training and Assessment Strategy
- Prepare and adapt training resources and assessment tools to meet unit and industry requirements
- Provide clear, constructive feedback and support to students, including those with additional LLN needs
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records in line with AVETMISS and ASQA compliance requirements
- Participate in validation and moderation activities as required
About you
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122), or equivalent
- Demonstrated vocational competency and current industry experience relevant to one or more of the units above (e.g. commercial cookery, hospitality, barista/food & beverage, food safety supervision, first aid training)
- Current Food Safety Supervisor certification, Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) currency highly regarded where relevant to the units delivered
- Robust communication skills and the ability to engage learners from diverse backgrounds
- Sound understanding of the ASQA Standards for RTOs and AVETMISS reporting requirements
- Current Working with Children Check / National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
