About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is a broad enterprise leadership role with responsibility for the Finance and Regulation, Commercial Services, and Digital and Transformation portfolios.

As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will help shape Seqwater’s strategic direction and ensure the organisation remains financially sustainable, commercially effective, digitally secure and equipped to deliver a resilient essential service. The role will lead a multidisciplinary portfolio across a complex, highly regulated and asset-intensive organisation operating around the clock and across a geographically dispersed network.





Key priorities will include

- Leading financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting, treasury and economic regulatory activities.
- Strengthening financial governance, enterprise risk management, commercial probity and organisational accountability.
- Overseeing commercial and procurement services to deliver value and meet Queensland Government requirements.
- Leading corporate systems and business support services that improve efficiency and the internal customer experience.
- Providing strategic oversight of cyber security and digital technology, including resilient operations, incident preparedness and contemporary enterprise platforms.
- Leading enterprise transformation and supporting Seqwater to respond effectively to changing operational, regulatory and community expectations.
- Advising the CEO and Board on complex financial, commercial, regulatory, technology and investment matters.
- Partnering with Queensland Treasury and key government stakeholders to shape Seqwater's pathway towards a sustainable long term financial position.
- Developing leadership capability and fostering a high-performing, inclusive and safety-focused culture across the portfolio.

This is a visible enterprise role requiring the CFO to remain closely connected to Seqwater’s people, operations, customers and communities. It offers the opportunity to influence the long-term performance of an organisation that is fundamental to the prosperity and liveability of South East Queensland.

About You

You will be an accomplished executive with substantial experience leading large, multidisciplinary portfolios in a complex,



regulated and asset-intensive environment. You will bring deep financial leadership capability, including expertise across financial management, treasury, governance and economic regulation, together with experience leading significant organisational transformation.

Commercially astute and strategically minded, you will be comfortable navigating competing priorities and providing clear, well-considered advice on complex issues. You will bring the executive presence and judgement to operate credibly with the CEO, Board, government and regulators, influencing complex decisions and representing Seqwater confidently with external stakeholders. You will understand how finance, technology, commercial services and transformation can work together to strengthen organisational performance and enable better customer and community outcomes.

Your leadership style will be collaborative, visible and grounded. You will build trust across diverse stakeholder groups, set clear expectations and empower capable people to perform at their best. You will also demonstrate the judgement and courage to raise difficult issues, challenge established thinking and identify better ways of working while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, wellbeing and ethical conduct.

You will hold tertiary qualifications in business or finance, relevant postgraduate qualifications, and professional membership as a CPA or Chartered Accountant.
