Specialised Utility Group is an organisation with expertise in excavation, horizontal boring, pipe laying, hydro excavation, drain cleaning and tree root maintenance. We currently hold a few major civil contracts including Ventia (Yarra Valley Water), Downer (South East water). We mainly work within the South Eastern and Northern suburbs of Melbourne and we perform main to meter water service renewals, new installations, reactive water maintenance and hydro excavation.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, energetic, willing to learn and willing to work hard and grow within the company.

We offer an average yearly salary of between $66,000 and well over $100,000 including overtime.

Hourly pay rate will vary depending on tickets/ licences and experience.

We are a very close team and are looking for the right person/s to join us and fill in the available positions;

- Truck driver, excavator operator
- Pipe layer
- Labourer
- Hydro excavation, combo truck operator/ driver for one of our Cappellottos

ALL HYDRO EXCAVATION TRUCKS DEPART AND RETURN TO DANDENONG DAILY.

Required Tickets and Licences

- White card - Construction induction card
- Minimum MR truck licence (Or willing to get a truck licence)
- HR truck licence required for hydro excavation
- First aid and CPR
- Traffic management (an advantage)
- Spotters (an advantage)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- Committed to safe work practices
- Knowledge in SWMS / JSEA
- Truck driving experience
- Strong on the shovel and not afraid of manual labour
- Experience in reading DBYD plans




- Experience in locating underground services including Gas, Water, Telecommunications and Electricity - an advantage
- Excavator operating around live services experience - an advantage
- Spotting experience - an advantage
- Experience in boring with Grundomat or directional drilling - a big advantage
- Knowledge in South East Water's computer program (Montage) - an advantage
- Knowledge in Yarra Valley Water's computer program (Click) - an advantage
- Some plumbing experience - an advantage

Scope of duties to be performed including and not limited to:

- Work under strict OH&S; conditions
- Performing daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicles and equipment
- Reading plans and communicating with supervisors and members of the public
- Reading Dial Before You Dig plans
- Service locating
- Conduct problem solving activities for water board defects
- Excavation around live services, traffic and pedestrians in nature strips, roads and footpaths
- Safe operation of construction equipment such as tipper trucks, excavators, front end loaders
- Safe use of a demolition saw, jack hammer, power tools and jumping jack wacker
- Working in deep excavations
- Underground boring
- Recent water service installations from main to meter
- Temporary road reinstatement

On offer to strong candidates is an attractive hourly rate with plenty of overtime available. PLENTY OF OVERTIME IS AVAILABLE AND IS AT TIMES REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE JOB.

WEEKEND WORK IS AVAILABLE AND WILL BE REQUIRED AT LEAST ONCE EVERY SIX WEEKS
