About the Role
We are seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Operator to join our team at our Parkes workshop.
In this role, you will operate CNC plasma-cutting equipment to produce accurate components for structural, mechanical and fabrication projects. You will interpret drawings and cutting lists, prepare materials, monitor cutting operations and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet the required specifications.
You will work closely with our fabrication and project teams to maintain an efficient workflow while delivering safe, accurate and high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC plasma-cutting equipment
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and cutting lists
- Load programs and prepare nesting layouts
- Select and load materials for cutting
- Monitor cutting operations and adjust machine settings when required
- Inspect and measure finished components for accuracy and quality
- Identify and report defects, faults or maintenance requirements
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance
About You
- Previous experience operating CNC plasma-cutting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- Good understanding of steel plate, material grades and cutting processes
- Experience with CNC programming and nesting software is highly regarded
- Robust measuring and quality control skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Fabrication or metal-processing experience is highly regarded
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
