About the Role

This is a hands-on role for an experienced carpenter who enjoys commercial construction, takes pride in their work and is comfortable taking the lead when required. You’ll work alongside our Site Supervisors, Project Managers, apprentices and subcontractors across a variety of commercial projects.

Day to day, the role will involve:

- Commercial carpentry, fitout, refurbishment and general building works.
- Set-out, framing, linings, doors, hardware, fixtures, joinery and finishing works.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Planning your work, materials and equipment to keep things moving efficiently.
- Working closely with Site Supervisors and subcontractors to coordinate works on site.
- Leading and mentoring apprentices.
- Taking responsibility for smaller work areas and stepping into a Leading Hand role when required.
- Identifying issues early and helping find practical solutions.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and site presentation.

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your day supervising others. We’re looking for someone who is happy to be on the tools, lead by example and take ownership of getting the job done properly.

About You

You’ll ideally have:
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification.
- Experience working on commercial construction, fitout or refurbishment projects.
- Strong all-round carpentry skills and a high standard of workmanship.
- The ability to read drawings and work independently.




- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with or mentoring apprentices.
- The confidence to coordinate other workers and subcontractors when required.
- A robust work ethic and a positive, practical attitude.
- Current driver’s licence.

Previous Leading Hand experience would be great, but isn’t essential. We’d also like to hear from experienced commercial carpenters who are ready to take the next step and take on more responsibility.
