The Role As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will provide high-quality anaesthetic services across a broad range of clinical presentations and specialties.
Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing anaesthetic care for adult, paediatric and obstetric patients
- Managing elective and emergency surgical cases
- Working across a broad range of surgical specialties
- Participating in the consultant on-call roster
- Contributing to clinical research and quality improvement
- Participating in the review and development of clinical practice
- Working collaboratively with surgeons, physicians, nursing and allied health teams
- Contributing to the continued development of regional anaesthetic services
- Supporting a high standard of patient-centred care

There may also be opportunities to work across the wider regional health network.
Clinical Scope The position provides excellent clinical variety and would suit an Anaesthetist who enjoys a broad practice.
Experience across:

- General surgery
- Orthopaedics
- Obstetrics
- Paediatrics
- Emergency surgery
- Elective surgery

would be highly valued.
Experience in thoracic and vascular anaesthesia would be advantageous.

- FANZCA-qualified Consultant Anaesthetists
- Specialists eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia/AHPRA

- Internationally trained Anaesthetists with comparable specialist qualifications who may be eligible to pursue specialist recognition in Australia

Ideally, you will bring:

- Broad Consultant Anaesthetics experience
- Confidence managing adult, paediatric and obstetric anaesthesia
- Experience across a range of surgical specialties
- Strong clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care
- Commitment to clinical governance and quality improvement

Previous regional or rural experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
International Medical Graduates Internationally trained Anaesthetists with appropriate specialist qualifications are encouraged to enquire.
Candidates who may be eligible for Australian specialist recognition can be supported through the relevant AHPRA and specialist college assessment pathways.
