Job responsibilities
● Operate and maintain advanced dairy milking systems and associated equipment
● Monitor livestock health and behavior, promptly reporting any concerns
● Identify and report any equipment faults or irregular operation
● Operate farm machinery safely and perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor adjustments
● Track and record key data such as milk yield, vat temperatures, and herd counts
● Keep farm records accurate and up to date, including herd information and feed inventories
● Use computerized farm management systems and standard measuring tools in daily operations
● Apply basic scientific knowledge to support farm processes and activities
● Assist with farm processes such as artificial insemination and fertiliser application when required
● Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient daily operations
● Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and maintain high standards of animal welfare
What we are looking for
● Relevant qualifications and/or practical, hands-on experience in dairy or livestock farming
● Perform effectively both independently and as part of a cooperative team
● Good attention to detail and time management
● Strong communication skills and a positive team attitude
● Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
● Maintain the physical stamina necessary to meet the daily demands of farm work
