MCS Civil is a privately owned Australian civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering specialist civil works across the energy, rail, transport and infrastructure sectors.

Our capabilities span civil construction, earthworks, piling, foundations and concrete works, supported by experienced project teams, specialist capability and a modern, privately owned fleet. Working alongside principal contractors, utilities and project partners, we deliver projects from early site establishment through to completion.

With a growing pipeline of major energy infrastructure and transmission line projects across NSW, Queensland and South Australia, we are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our team and support the commercial delivery of major projects.

About the Role

As a Contract Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the commercial and contractual management of MCS Civil's projects.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives, you will assist with the administration of contracts and subcontract packages throughout project lifecycles.

You will have exposure to procurement, subcontract management, variations, claims, cost reporting and commercial risk, working as part of an experienced project team to support successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the administration and management of head contracts and subcontract packages.
- Support procurement, tendering and subcontractor engagement
- Prepare, review and manage subcontractor documentation
- Assist with the assessment and management of variations, claims and extensions of time
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual requirements
- Manage contractual correspondence, notices and registers




- Assist with progress claims, payment schedules and commercial reporting
- Support project cost tracking, forecasting and financial reporting
- Identify and communicate commercial and contractual risks
- Maintain accurate contract records and project documentation
- Assist with contract negotiations and resolution of commercial issues
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure contractual requirements are understood and managed
- Support project close-out, final accounts and completion documentation

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded Contract Administrator who can work confidently within a fast-paced project environment and build strong relationships across project teams.

- 3+ years' experience in contract administration within civil construction, infrastructure, engineering or related industries
- Experience managing subcontractor packages, commercial documentation and contract deliverables
- Strong understanding of variations, claims, extensions of time and contract administration
- Experience supporting procurement, pricing reviews and subcontractor negotiations
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret contracts, scopes, specifications and project documentation
- Understanding of Australian construction contracts, standards and WHS requirements
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers




- Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience across energy, transmission, utilities or major infrastructure projects highly regarded
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Business or related discipline highly regarded
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using project or ERP systems
- Current White Card
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
