We are recruiting for an experienced and person-centred Coordinator, Services & Facility to join our Specialist Community Services (SCS) team at Vincentian Village.

Vinnies Mental Health Service offers low care supported accommodation service in shared living environments with support from a professional team of staff.

The Village is a 28 bed supported accommodation service for adults with a persistent and enduring mental health diagnosis who require support with day to day living. Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health Service, the Coordinator, Services & Facility leads the Daily Life Skills and On-Site Support Worker teams, coordinates service facilities, and ensures the Daily Life Skills Program is delivered using person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed principles. Working closely with the Coordinator, Consumer Services, the role co-designs and delivers programs, events and activities as part of the service leadership team.

Key responsibilities

- Ensure delivery of person centred, trauma informed and recovery-oriented support, with appropriate engagement of carers and families
- Provide day to day line management and supervision of Daily Life Skills Workers and On-Site Support Workers
- Develop and maintain effective staff rosters for the teams that prioritise meeting the consumer needs, ensuring continuity of service delivery and adherence to budget requirements
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator, Consumer Services to co-design and deliver group programs, activities and events that support recovery and wellbeing
- Encourage and actively support Consumer participation, including involvement of families and carers where appropriate in activities, groups and events
- Contributes to the Organisational Impact/outcome Framework through data collection, key impact indicators, surveys and other reporting activities
- Review and investigate Incident Reports from the DLS Team and OSW, and provide recommendations to the Manager, Mental Health Service and escalating where required




- Facilitate effective communication across the teams and, promote collaboration across the service
- Participate in the On Call roster providing after hours support
- Lead, manage and support staff by providing direction, coaching and guidance within practice approaches, setting clear expectations and driving performance to achieve measurable service outcomes
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements for Mental Health Services and an understanding of, or experience working within, LARU licensing requirements and standards is desirable.

Success in this role is reflected in the delivery of safe, compliant and consumer-led services, where engaged teams, quality facilities, effective partnerships and meaningful programs support positive outcomes for consumers.

About you

- Experience working with people with complex needs including mental health, trauma, disability, homelessness, substance use and/or financial disadvantage – particularly within a community or residential setting
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or extensive relevant experience complemented by quality in-service training
- Experience leading and supervising a team of skilled workers
- Values that are consistent with a recovery-based model, trauma informed and therapeutic crisis intervention practice approach and proven capacity to embed these to work practices and approach
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to prepare concise and relevant written reports, maintain files and data requirements and the capacity to represent the program at both an agency and community level
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, influencing and negotiation with experience in developing and maintaining effective networks and relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in reflective practice and the ability to line manage and coach staff




- Strong awareness of personal and professional boundaries and the ability to manage these in relation to supervising staff and working with consumers
