The Organisation:

This established organisation provides labour hire, construction and mechanical services, supporting a predominantly field-based workforce across a range of industries.

Due to an upcoming change within the payroll function, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join the team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a hands-on payroll position where strong communication skills and the ability to confidently manage employee queries will be highly valued.

Job Duties:
The role will involve managing the end-to-end weekly payroll process for a predominantly field-based workforce, with key responsibilities including:

- Processing weekly payroll for up to 150 timesheets
- Managing end-to-end payroll processing and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
- Responding to payroll queries from employees and providing clear, easy-to-understand information
- Working with penalties, overtime and relevant awards
- Preparing weekly and end-of-month payroll reporting
- Ensuring payroll information is accurate and compliant
- Working closely with the CFO and wider business
- Assisting with payroll-related administration and reporting as required

Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will have previous end-to-end payroll experience and be confident working independently within a busy environment.

You will ideally have:

- Proven end-to-end payroll experience
- Experience using Astute - Essential




- Experience processing payroll for a predominantly field-based workforce would be highly regarded
- Understanding of overtime, penalties and awards
- Experience processing weekly payroll
- Solid communication skills and the ability to confidently answer employee queries
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work autonomously while also being comfortable asking questions when required
- Experience with Xero and/or JobAdder would be advantageous but is not essential
- Full working rights in Australia – Working Holiday Visa holders with relevant experience are welcome to apply
- Ability to obtain or provide a current police clearance
