Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking an experienced Procurement and Contracts Officer to support the delivery of procurement and contracting activities within a Queensland Government environment.
This 6-month opportunity will have a strong focus on Learning & Development procurement, alongside broader operational procurement activities. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, providing practical procurement advice and supporting sourcing, evaluation and contract management processes.
Key responsibilities
- Support end-to-end procurement planning and sourcing activities, including documentation, market release, evaluations and contract formation.
- Provide procurement advice to stakeholders, particularly across Learning & Development procurement.
- Assist with the preparation of procurement plans, evaluation plans and briefing notes for senior and executive management.
- Support stakeholders to develop specifications and determine appropriate procurement strategies.
- Assist with contract negotiation, management and administration activities.
- Prepare purchase requisitions and liaise with shared service providers regarding purchase orders and vendor discrepancies.
- Prepare vendor creations and extensions within SAP.
- Liaise with Finance and Budgeting teams regarding day-to-day procurement matters.
- Support the central procurement inbox and associated records management using SharePoint Online and shared drives.
About you To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate:
- Recent Queensland Government procurement experience within the last 6–12 months.
- Knowledge and practical experience applying the Queensland Procurement Policy and associated procedures.
- Experience undertaking operational procurement activities.
- Experience developing Queensland Government RFQs, tenders, contracts and associated documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to effectively engage with stakeholders and provide practical procurement advice.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience using SAP financial systems.
- Previous Learning & Development procurement experience will be highly regarded.
