Varied, hands-on maintenance roles | Stable manufacturing environment

A well-established market leading Australian manufacturing business is seeking experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitters to join its experienced engineering and maintenance team.

These roles are broad, hands-on positions suited to practical and skilled fitters who enjoy fault finding, machinery maintenance, fabrication and solving mechanical problems, rather than simply performing repetitive preventative maintenance.

The Role

You'll work across a busy manufacturing environment, taking responsibility for the maintenance, repair and improvement of production equipment and associated plant.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Mechanical fault finding, repairs and equipment replacement
- Maintenance of production machinery and associated plant
- Light steel and stainless-steel fabrication and welding
- Mechanical modifications and machinery improvements
- Assisting with automation and production efficiency improvements
- Working autonomously on maintenance projects and scheduled works
- Coordinating with electrical, plumbing and other specialist contractors
- Recording maintenance activities in site management system (Mex)
- Maintaining high standards of WHS and housekeeping

About You

We're looking for capable,



reliable tradespersons who take ownership of their work and comfortable working across a varied manufacturing environment, including some of the latest machines and technology in manufacturing, in addition to some older production lines and legacy systems.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Trade qualification in Fitting & Machining / Mechanical Fitting
- Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience
- Manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Welding and fabrication capability
- Current forklift licence
- Good safety awareness
- Ability to work autonomously and manage changing priorities
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude

Plumbing fitting experience and basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous.

Some flexibility for overtime, including occasional weekend or public holiday work, will be required.
