Design Assistant | Sydney Inner City | $75K + Super

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their fashion career who wants to learn from an experienced Design Manager and build a strong foundation across design and product development within a fast-paced fashion business.

What you’ll be doing:

- Working closely with the Design Manager as her right hand across the day-to-day design process
- Supporting tech packs, particularly the design elements, and keeping information accurate and up to date
- Learning and managing WFX, the team’s key product development system
- Collating information from Design, Production and suppliers and actioning
- Communicating with offshore suppliers around product and design queries and following up outstanding information
- Supporting the wider Design, Production and Garment Tech teams with day-to-day coordination and administration
- Keeping track of multiple styles, updates and deadlines to ensure nothing gets missed
- Building your skills across CAD, AI, garment construction and product development
- With development, there’s opportunity to contribute to designs within collections





What they’re looking for:

- 1–2 years’ experience in fashion/design/product, or strong relevant junior experience
- Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Pattern Making or similar
- Good understanding of basic garment construction and fashion terminology
- Highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented
- Someone who is keen to learn, receptive to feedback and comfortable getting involved in the detail
- Transparent and confident communication skills, particularly when working across different teams and suppliers
- Someone who can take direction, ask the right questions and then confidently action what’s needed
- Comfortable working across both the creative and administrative side of design
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, 5-day office environment
