About the Role
As a disability personal trainer, your role will be to support our clients with exercise, ranging from personal training sessions to general physical activity such as walking and sport. Trainers will plan and run sessions that are personalised to the unique needs and goals of each client.
Trainers will work predominately in a one-to-one setting with their clients, but may also been involved in running group classes. Sessions are conducted in community settings (e.g. gyms, parks) or from the client’s home when deemed appropriate.
We want trainers at Bright Wellness: Disability Fitness Service to inspire healthy behaviours and act as mentors to our clients.
This role will work perfectly for people who are looking to work a job that fits around other work, educational or family commitments.
Prerequisites for the position include:
- Certificate IV in Fitness
- Access to a car & valid NSW driver’s license
- Up-to-date First Aid Certificate and Working with Children’s Check
Note: Experience in working with people with disabilities and/or children and young adolescents is strongly favoured but not essential.
Priority may be given to those candidates with afternoon (after-school) and weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting clients with exercise,
working towards improving their health and wellbeing
- Create and implement workout programs tailored to the unique needs and abilities of each client
- Exercise planning/programming
- Supporting clients in participating positively in their community through person-centred support
- Communication with families, clients and the Bright Wellness management team
- Reporting program notes
