Casual Disability Support Worker – Melbourne South-East

Equal Path Co. is seeking reliable, compassionate and motivated workers to provide support to participants across Melbourne’s inner south-east and surrounding suburbs. This is a casual position with versatile shifts available across Supported Independent Living (SIL), community access, respite/Short Term Accommodation (STA), and in-home support services.
We are seeking workers who are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support and are focused on assisting participants to achieve their goals, increase their independence and participate in the community.
About the role
As a Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to NDIS participants with a range of support needs, including physical disability, psychosocial disability, intellectual disability and complex support requirements. These may be delivered within participant homes, Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments, Short Term Accommodation (STA), community settings and group programs.
Shifts may include
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Overnight sleepovers
- Active nights
- Weekends and public holidays
Key responsibilities
Depending on participant needs, duties may include:
- Personal care and hygiene assistance
- Manual handling and mobility support
- Community access and transport
- Meal preparation and household assistance
- Social and recreational support
- Medication assistance
- Independent living skill development
- Supporting participants within SIL environments
- Supporting participants with behaviours of concern and complex needs
- Completing progress notes and documentation
Workers will collaborate with participants, families, coordinators and other support staff to ensure support is delivered in a safe, respectful and high-quality manner.

Experience supporting participants with complex physical support needs, behaviours of concern, epilepsy, psychosocial disability or high intensity supports will be highly regarded.
Essential requirements
Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- NDIS Orientation Module
- National Police Check
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid & CPR
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Reliable and insured vehicle
- Smartphone with internet access
- Australian working rights
Highly regarded experience
Experience or training in the following is highly desirable:
- Manual handling and hoist transfers
- Epilepsy and seizure management
- Dysphagia support
- Medication assistance
- Positive behaviour support
- SIL and STA/respite environments
