Join LAAS as a Casual Disability Support Worker supporting individuals with daily tasks like personal care, meal preparation, and household activities to help them thrive independently. You will lead engaging activities, advocate for individuals, maintain records, foster inclusive environments, and work across diverse settings including participants' homes and community environments.
Key responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily tasks including personal care, meal preparation, and household activities
- Lead fun, engaging activities such as social outings, recreational adventures, and learning opportunities
- Advocate for individuals and team up with healthcare professionals to ensure their needs are met
- Maintain clear, detailed records for individuals while upholding high standards and organisational policies
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment where individuals feel valued and supported
- Work across diverse settings including participants' homes, community environments, and group activities
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies for individuals with challenging behaviours
- Support individuals with complex clinical needs
About you
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability)
or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum of 6 months experience supporting people with disability is required
- Skilled in providing support to people with disability, including implementing positive behaviour support strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport
- Robust understanding of disability support principles, practices, and the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Valid driver's licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Covid 19 Vaccination record
