DXN Limited is a vertically integrated manufacturer and operator of modular data centres across Asia Pacific. The Company designs, engineers, manufactures, and operates high-quality, prefabricated facilities for government and blue-chip enterprise customers.
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical design, documentation and delivery support of DXN’s data centre and critical power projects. The role spans the full project lifecycle: developing and documenting electrical designs, supporting procurement and factory testing, and then working on site through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
What you'll be doing
- Designing electrical systems for data centre and critical power projects, concept through construction issue - and doing the calculations behind them: load and demand, cable sizing, fault levels, protection coordination, arc flash and earthing
- Specifying LV distribution and standby power - switchboards, busway and PDUs, generators, UPS topology, transfer arrangements and redundancy
- Reviewing supplier designs and technical submissions, and supporting procurement through scopes, RFQs, tender evaluation and factory acceptance testing
- Getting on site to inspect installed work, resolve clashes and close out non-conformances
- Taking systems through commissioning to handover - ITPs and procedures, witnessing testing, verifying protection settings and transfer sequences, then feeding what you learn back into our reference designs
What you'll bring
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (or Electrical and Electronic Engineering)
- 3–7 years in electrical design, building services, industrial power or critical facilities
- A track record producing electrical documentation for construction - SLDs, schematics, layouts and schedules
- Solid calculation competence: load estimation, cable sizing, volt drop, fault level, protection coordination and earthing
- Current, applied knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and the related suite, including specifying LV distribution equipment to AS/NZS 61439
- Practical knowledge of standby generation and UPS - sizing, transfer arrangements and batteries
- Electrical CAD, plus an analysis package such as ETAP, SKM or Amtec
- Site experience — inspecting installed work and taking part in testing and commissioning
- White Card (or willingness to obtain), a current driver's licence, unrestricted Australian work rights and willingness to travel to site
