Electrical Supervisor - BHP Project
FIFO 2:1 | Port Hedland | Initial 3-Month Contract | $110/hr
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor for a major BHP project in Port Hedland, supporting a significant upgrade and shutdown project.
This is an opportunity to join a major resources project on an initial 3-month contract, working a 2:1 FIFO roster, with the broader project program running through to approximately December 2027.
The Project The project involves major upgrades to BHP's Port Hedland infrastructure, with the upcoming major shutdown scheduled from: 17 September 2026 - 1 November 2026
The broader Port Infrastructure program includes multiple scopes of work and is expected to continue well beyond the initial shutdown, providing potential opportunities for ongoing work for strong performers.
Electrical Scope The Electrical Supervisor will oversee electrical works associated with the project, including:
- HV/LV cabling
- Switchroom upgrades
- Switchroom platform works
- Electrical installation and upgrade activities
- Coordination of electrical crews and subcontractors
- Integration of electrical works with mechanical and structural activities
- Testing, commissioning and completion activities
- Ensuring electrical works are completed in accordance with project specifications and BHP requirements
The Role You will provide strong site-based leadership across electrical construction and installation activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise electrical construction and installation activities
- Coordinate electrical trades, crews and subcontractors
- Plan and coordinate daily site activities
- Monitor productivity, progress and quality
- Ensure works comply with project specifications, procedures and safety requirements
- Lead pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site coordination activities
- Liaise with construction, engineering and project management teams
- Identify and resolve electrical construction issues on site
- Coordinate electrical works alongside SMP and other project disciplines
- Provide effective leadership across day and night shift operations
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Supervisor on major mining, resources, industrial or shutdown projects
- Current S26 Electrical Supervisor qualification
- Robust HV/LV electrical construction experience
- Previous experience supervising electrical crews on major projects
- Shutdown experience highly regarded
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methodologies and site safety requirements
- Excellent communication, leadership and coordination skills
- Ability to work both day and night shifts
- BHP experience and/or previous major iron ore project experience highly regarded
- Ability to commit to a 2:1 FIFO roster
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Full Australian working rights
- Current S26 Electrical Supervisor qualification
- Construction White Card
- Relevant electrical qualifications and licences
- Current driver's licence
- Ability to complete required BHP and contractor inductions
Candidates who do not hold full Australian working rights and an S26 qualification will not be considered. Contract & Roster

- $110 per hour
- 12-hour shifts
- Day shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Night shift: 6:00pm - 6:00am
- Accommodation and flights provided
- Potential for ongoing work beyond the initial contract
Site & Accommodation Accommodation is provided in Port Hedland, approximately 12km from the BHP Nelson Point site.
