Employment Lawyer| 12 Month Secondment

Elevate Legal Talent is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer for a 12-month secondment with one of Australia’s leading energy businesses.

Commencing around 12 October 2026, with the possibility of an earlier start for handover, the role can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney and offers a hybrid working arrangement. Full-time is preferred, although there may be flexibility for the right candidate.

Working as part of the Corporate, Regulatory & Disputes Legal team, you will provide strategic legal advice across complex employment, industrial relations and broader people-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide legal and strategic advice on complex employment and industrial relations matters
- Advise on employee relations, workplace conduct, performance management and disciplinary matters
- Support the management of psychosocial risk and workplace compliance obligations
- Manage and assist with employment-related claims, disputes and litigation
- Conduct and support internal investigations, including sensitive workplace matters
- Provide legal advice on whistleblower matters and investigations
- Partner with HR, Compliance and business stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially focused legal solutions
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and advise the business on their impact

About You

We are looking for an Australian-qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE and:

- Strong employment and industrial relations experience
- Demonstrated experience advising on complex workplace matters




- Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations
- Exposure to employment litigation, disputes and claims management
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Sound judgement and the ability to navigate sensitive matters
- A practical and commercially focused approach to legal advice
- Experience gained in a reputable private practice or in-house environment

Experience advising on whistleblower matters will be highly regarded. Why Join?
