About the role

Energy Synapse is at the forefront of analytics and decision-support tools for Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM). We're looking for an Energy Market Analyst to join our team who is passionate about clean energy, comfortable with data, and confident engaging with clients.

This role blends analytical depth with client-facing impact. You'll contribute to our core NEM and renewables/storage research, and play an active role in representing Energy Synapse with clients and at industry events.

You will work directly under the company Founder, who is one of Australia's leading clean energy experts.

Responsibilities

- Contribute to Energy Synapse analysis and research on the NEM, with a focus on renewables and storage




- Analysis of grid constraints and their impact on generators
- Policy analysis (e.g. government underwriting schemes)
- Build, maintain, and improve analytical pipelines and models using Python
- Participate in client meetings, deliver demonstrations of the Energy Synapse Platform, and respond to client queries
- Represent Energy Synapse at industry events
- Collaborate with the broader team to translate analysis into clear, actionable insights for clients

What we are looking for

- 1-4 years of experience in Australia's electricity market and utility-scale clean energy
- Strong understanding of NEM fundamentals
- Experience working directly with AEMO data sets
- Proficient in python, including pandas library
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a small business setting
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Must be based in Australia with full legal right to work in Australia
