About the role An Environmental Practitioner with Mining and/or Quarrying approvals and compliance experience to join a growing Adelaide-based team. As a consultant, you will be provided the opportunity to lead on the preparation of mining and quarry approval projects under the guidance of the Managing Director. The majority of work will involve environmental approvals and compliance support in the mining and extractives sectors, with opportunities to contribute to projects across South Australia and potentially interstate.
Key responsibilities
- Lead on the preparation of mining and quarry approval projects
- Provide environmental approvals and compliance support in the mining and extractives sectors
- Manage Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage multiple projects with strong organisational skills
Desired specialty capabilities
- Undertake Native Vegetation Assessments and SEB
- Contribute to Quarry Design and Planning
- Conduct Occupational Silica Monitoring
- Undertake Hydrological and hydrogeological assessments
- Support Mining Rehabilitation and Closure projects
- Prepare Planning and Development Applications
About you
- An ecology background with native vegetation consultant accreditation (or eligibility and willingness to obtain accreditation) will be highly regarded.
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management,
Mine Engineering or a related field
- An excellent communicator who connects with others and brings a down-to-earth approach to the team.
- Strong technical and organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Solid attention to detail and a high standard of work quality
- A current driver's licence and access to your own vehicle
- Willingness and physical ability to undertake fieldwork in remote and challenging environments
- Right to work in Australia and hold a current Australian driver's licence
