Our client has been delivering quality shed solutions and structural steel projects across Australia for more than 35 years. With new ownership, renewed energy and a clear focus on growth, the business is now looking for an experienced Estimator to play a key role in how it wins and delivers work.

This role is part of a re-launched advertising strategy designed to reach a broader field of experienced candidates. While the business is based in Clare, the location should not be seen as a barrier. Flexible arrangements and practical support can be discussed for the right person.

You will use your structural steel knowledge, commercial judgement and attention to detail to prepare accurate quotations for fabrication and erection projects. This is a hands-on estimating role where your work will directly support tender outcomes, project planning and business growth.

What you will be doing

You will work with the General Manager and internal teams across the full tender process, including:

- Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, addenda and contract requirements.
- Completing material take-offs for structural steel, plate, fixings, coatings, transport items and related components.
- Estimating fabrication, welding, surface treatment, drafting, project management and erection labour requirements.
- Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Preparing quotation breakdowns, tender submissions, clarifications, inclusions and exclusions.
- Liaising with clients, builders, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify scope and support tender negotiations.
- Assisting with variation pricing, post-tender reviews, handover information and cost support for awarded projects.

What you will bring We are looking for someone with:

- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication,



erection processes, workshop workflows and site installation requirements.
- The ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, civil and shop drawings.
- Accurate take-off capability and strong numerical, analytical and commercial judgement.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with estimating templates, pricing schedules and cost tracking tools.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tenders, competing priorities and deadlines.
- A trade or technical background in fabrication, boiler making, welding, steel detailing, construction or engineering, which will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of AS/NZS 5131 and relevant Australian standards, which will be highly regarded.
- Experience with estimating, take-off, drafting, 3D modelling or steel detailing software such as Tekla Structures, Tekla PowerFab/Tekla EPM, Revit, SolidWorks or similar.
