About SYNCH

SYNCH is an emerging Australian swimwear and resortwear label centred around elevated, feminine and considered design. Defined by sculptural silhouettes, refined details and a minimal aesthetic, SYNCH creates pieces that feel modern, confident and effortless.

The Fashion Design Intern will work closely with the Founder to design and develop SYNCH’s upcoming swimwear and resortwear collection. The role will focus on transforming the brand’s established creative direction into original, cohesive and production-ready designs.

This is a 12 week remote, unpaid student placement open to current Year 12, TAFE and university students.

Main Tasks

- Design original swimwear and resortwear pieces for the upcoming collection.
- Develop concepts that reflect SYNCH’s established aesthetic and creative direction.
- Create fashion illustrations, design sketches and technical flats.
- Refine silhouettes, cuts, straps, coverage, fit and construction details.
- Explore suitable colourways, fabrics, textures, trims and hardware.
- Ensure each piece works cohesively within the wider collection.
- Present design concepts and make revisions based on feedback.
- Prepare final design concepts for sampling and manufacturing.
- Maintain confidentiality around all unreleased designs and collection information.

Job Requirements

- Currently completing Year 12, TAFE, university or another recognised fashion or design-related course.
- Studying Fashion Design, Textiles and Design, Design and Technology, Visual Arts or a related subject.
- Able to receive formal placement approval from a school or education provider.
- Strong creative design and fashion illustration skills.
- An understanding of garment construction, proportions and fit.




- Genuine interest in swimwear and resortwear design.
- Ability to interpret moodboards and follow an established brand direction.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva or another design program is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and openness to creative feedback.
- Reliable, organised and comfortable working remotely.
- No previous industry experience required.
