RASAC is seeking an exceptional General Manager (Chief Executive Officer) to lead the organisation into its next chapter of growth, sustainability, and community impact.

This is more than an executive leadership role. It is an opportunity to work alongside Anangu communities, the Board, staff, Traditional Owners, and key stakeholders to strengthen services that improve the wellbeing, independence, and aspirations of the people they serve. We are seeking an empathetic, collaborative, and values-driven leader who understands that genuine leadership begins with listening, building trust, and empowering others.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the General Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across the organisation. Working closely with the Board, staff, community leaders, funding partners, and government agencies, you will ensure RASAC remains financially sustainable, culturally strong, and responsive to community priorities.

Fostering an organisational culture built on integrity,

- Build strong, respectful relationships with Anangu communities, Elders, Traditional Owners, staff, and partner organisations.

- Lead, mentor, and develop a capable, engaged, and high-performing team.

- Ensure sound governance, compliance, risk management, and organisational accountability.

- Oversee financial management, budgeting, reporting, and long-term sustainability.

- Strengthen partnerships with government, funding bodies, and external stakeholders.

- Identify opportunities for innovation, service improvement, and organisational growth.

- Champion culturally safe practices throughout the organisation.

- Ensure services remain community-led, responsive, and outcomes-focused.

You are an experienced executive leader who combines strategic thinking with genuine humility and emotional intelligence. You recognise that successful leadership in Aboriginal community-controlled organisations requires respectful partnership, cultural responsiveness, and a commitment to shared decision-making. You will bring:

- Demonstrated executive or senior leadership experience.

- Outstanding people leadership skills with a collaborative and empowering approach.

- High emotional intelligence, empathy, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

- Experience ideally working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, and/or stakeholders.

- Sound financial and commercial management capability.

- Experience leading organisational strategy, governance, and operational excellence.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

- The ability to navigate complexity with integrity, sound judgement, and resilience.

- Knowledge of remote community service delivery.

- Tertiary qualifications in business, management, public administration, community services, or a related discipline.

Based in Alice Springs, the position will also require regular visits to/time spent on the APY Lands.

RASAC offers a rewarding executive leadership opportunity with genuine purpose, the chance to work alongside an engaged and committed Board, a supportive, values-driven organisational culture. The competitive remuneration package includes salary packaging, additional leave, the option to lease a quality Executive residence, and more.
