About the role The General Manager Procurement is responsible for leading Racing Queensland's procurement function, ensuring the organisation delivers value for money while maintaining the highest standards of governance, compliance and commercial integrity.
The role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of procurement activities across the organisation, supporting business units to achieve their objectives through effective procurement planning, sourcing and contract management.

Procurement is accountable for developing procurement capability, maintaining procurement frameworks and ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements, including the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP) and Racing Queensland's Board-approved Delegations.

Racing Queensland is the statutory body responsible for leading and supporting Queensland’s Thoroughbred, Greyhound, and Harness racing industries.
With participants and stakeholders located throughout metropolitan, regional and rural Queensland, the racing industry makes a significant contribution to the State's economy and local communities. Key accountabilities:
- Lead and manage Racing Queensland's Procurement function, ensuring the delivery of efficient, compliant and value-for-money procurement outcomes.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Procurement team, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations and continuous professional development.
- Develop,
implement and maintain Racing Queensland's procurement policies, frameworks, procedures and guidelines to support best practice procurement across the organisation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with the Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP), applicable legislation, organisational policies and recognised procurement best practice.
- Ensure procurement approvals are undertaken in accordance with Racing Queensland's Board-approved Delegations of Authority and associated governance requirements.
