Role Description The General Practitioner at Apex Health will provide comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population in Willowbank, QLD. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting patient consultations, performing physical examinations, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications, and coordinating referrals to specialists when required.
The role involves developing individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, supporting preventative health initiatives, and collaborating with nursing and allied health professionals to enhance patient outcomes. This is a contract,
on-site role based at the Apex Health clinic in Willowbank, QLD, requiring consistent presence during agreed clinical hours and active participation in the multidisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in Medicine and Primary Care, with demonstrated ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic presentations.
- Experience or training in Family Medicine, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and holistic patient support.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Nursing and other clinical staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care.
- Commitment to ongoing Training and career development, staying current with evidence-based guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Current medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Experience working in community or clinic-based settings, with strong history-taking, examination, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a patient-centered approach that supports diverse populations.
- Valid work rights in Australia and compliance with all local clinical governance, privacy, and safety standards.
