This is a hands-on and varied role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, can confidently work independently and enjoys solving the day-to-day maintenance issues that come with managing commercial properties. You'll travel between properties completing repairs, preventative maintenance, minor carpentry works and general property upkeep.
Key responsibilities
- Completing routine, preventative, urgent and ad-hoc property maintenance
- Undertaking minor carpentry, repairs and general handyman works
- Inspecting properties and identifying maintenance or repair requirements
- Completing minor building, fixtures, doors, locks and general property repairs
- Assisting with grounds and external property maintenance where required
- Coordinating with the Facility Manager regarding maintenance priorities and upcoming works
- Managing assigned work orders from receipt through to completion
- Engaging and coordinating specialist contractors where works are outside your scope
- Monitoring contractor attendance, workmanship and completion of works
- Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with Mica Properties' WHS requirements
About you
- Carpentry, handyman or general building maintenance experience
- Experience maintaining commercial properties, facilities or similar environments
- Robust general repair and maintenance skills
- The ability to identify maintenance issues and determine practical solutions
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional manner
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks
- A current open manual driver's licence
- Full Australian working rights
