About the role The Hire Controller is responsible for the coordination, scheduling and optimisation of the hire fleet to maximise utilisation, ensure exceptional customer service, quick reaction and responsiveness and maintain operational efficiency and accuracy.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all incoming hire enquiries, bookings and customer communications
- Allocate equipment efficiently to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime
- Coordinate machine availability, transport and job scheduling
- Monitor fleet utilisation daily and proactively adjust to achieve targets
- Utilise Latner rental software to manage all hire contracts, availability and fleet allocation
- Monitor fleet performance using Trackunit telematics data
- Prepare and process customer invoices in Xero, ensuring accuracy and alignment with hire contracts and rates
- Ensure all hire-related charges (hire, transport, damage, fuel, etc.) are captured and invoiced correctly
- Coordinate closely with transport contractors to ensure productive scheduling and minimise delays
- Deliver high-level customer service and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers
About you
- System training required: Latner, Trackunit, Xero, Apply Easy
- Knowledge of safety procedures and processes
- Detailed knowledge of hire equipment (EWPs, forklifts, telehandlers) including HRW licenses
