The opportunity
We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced individualto lead a team in providing efficient and effective generalbushland maintenance and rehabilitation tasks in the City’sbushland, estuary, coastal and wetland areas.
Key responsibilities (not limited to)
- Developing and maintaining a regular maintenanceschedule
- Guiding the work of a small team in bushland maintenancetasks including:
- native species identification and pruning
- tree planting, guarding and monitoring
- assessment monitoring and mapping activities withinreserves
- integrated weed control and identification
- fence installation and repairs
- general bushland, coastal, wetland rehabilitationand maintenance
- Providing on the job training to team members andtrainees
- Maintaining required quality standards
- Providing leadership to ensure safety standards aremaintained
- Ensuring the proper operation and security of materials,plant and equipment
To be successful in this role, you willneed:
- Certificate IV in Conservation and LandManagement/Certificate IV in Conservation and EcosystemManagement and/or Diploma in Conservation and LandManagement
- Current unrestricted C class national driver’s licence
- Current White Card
- Current Basic Worksite Traffic Management and TraffController Certificate
- Previous experience supervising employees and conductingpractical staff training
- Previous experience in a bushland conservation environmentincluding weed control and the safe handling and application ofweed spray chemicals
- Experience in general bushland rehabilitation constructionand maintenance activities
- Competent in the use of tablets, smartphones and otherelectronic devices

- *The salary for this role commences at step 1, withpotential for movement within the range based on demonstratedskills and experience. Incremental progression typically occursat the conclusion of each 12-month period, in accordance withthe Industrial Agreement.
