HICASA ELEVATORS is seeking an experienced Leading Hand - Lift Installation to join our dynamic team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to lead and supervise lift installation projects whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency. As a Leading Hand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all lift installation work is completed on time, within budget and to specification.
You will be responsible for managing teams of technicians and coordinating with other trades on construction sites, making this a pivotal position within our operations.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate lift installation teams on site, ensuring all work is completed safely and to quality standards
- Prepare and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of installation phases
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings to maintain a strong health and safety culture
- Inspect workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with building codes, standards and company specifications
- Liaise with project managers, site supervisors and other trades to coordinate workflow and resolve any site issues
- Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices on installation techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress reports and any incidents or hazards
- Manage inventory of tools and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels for project continuity
- Identify and report potential safety risks and implement corrective actions
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to maintain project momentum
What we're looking for
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in lift or elevator installation and maintenance
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leading hand capacity on construction sites
- Strong knowledge of lift installation procedures, safety standards, relevant standards and codes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team
- A demonstrated commitment to WHS practices and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Physical fitness and capability to perform hands-on work at heights
- Electrical License or relevant trade qualifications (preferred)
- Experience with lift modernisation, replacement projects; lift tuning and testing (preferred)
