Legal Counsel – Compliance & Governance

This is a standout prospect for a lawyer looking to step into (or grow within) an in-house role that offers breadth, responsibility, and genuine mentorship.

Joining a lean and high-performing legal team of two, you’ll work closely with a highly regarded General Counsel who is deeply invested in developing their team. This is an environment where you will be trusted with meaningful work, given exposure across the business, and supported to build both your technical and commercial skillset.

This is a varied and hands-on position spanning legal, compliance, and governance. You will partner across the business and be involved in:

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements
- Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders
- Advising on marketing and product compliance across key regulatory regimes (including ACL, Corporations Act, ASIC Act, Privacy and Spam legislation)
- Assisting with complaints, disputes, and regulator engagement
- Contributing to AML/CTF compliance and broader risk management initiatives
- Supporting governance processes, reporting, and internal policy development
- Advising on privacy, WHS, and general operational legal matters





This role offers strong visibility and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to business decisions.

About You

- 3 years PAE
- Strong foundational knowledge of contract, consumer and privacy law
- Prior exposure to compliance will be highly regarded; a genuine interest in regulatory, risk, and governance matters is essential
- Commercially minded with the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice
- Confident working with stakeholders across a business
- Seeking a background in financial services or other regulated environments but is not essential.
