Australia’s renewable energy market is rapidly expanding and Envision Energy Australia is growing alongside it. With a strong pipeline of major wind and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, we are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Australian team.

Based in Sydney or Melbourne, this is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting major renewable energy projects from contract negotiation through procurement, construction and project delivery.

Working closely with our Country Legal Head and the wider Australian business, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice across a diverse portfolio of high-value projects and business initiatives.

The Opportunity

This role will provide legal support across the full project lifecycle, with a solid focus on construction, infrastructure, renewable energy and commercial contracting.

You will work closely with project, commercial, procurement and business teams to identify and manage legal and contractual risks, support negotiations and help ensure projects progress efficiently.

As Envision’s Australian project pipeline continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to contribute to major wind and BESS developments, while also supporting the business's broader investment and growth activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day legal support across commercial, project and operational matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate construction and project contracts, including EPC, TSI, LTSA/WOM and other major project agreements.




- Support downstream contracting, including subcontracts, minor works, services and consultancy agreements.
- Provide legal support to project delivery teams on contractual issues, claims, variations, disputes and other project matters.
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice and support the business in identifying and managing legal and contractual risks.
- Work with internal stakeholders across project delivery, commercial, procurement and operations.
- Support the selection and management of external legal counsel in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide training and practical guidance to the business on relevant legal and contractual matters.
- Support the Australian business's growing BESS investment and development activities and other strategic initiatives as required.

What You'll Bring

- LLB, JD or equivalent law degree, with admission to practice in Australia.
- 5–6 years' PQE in projects or construction law, gained in-house or within a reputable law firm.
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, renewable energy or major projects is highly desirable.
- Strong contract drafting, review and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify and assess legal and commercial risks.
- Ideally,



experience across both front-end contract negotiation and back-end contract administration, claims or disputes.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across project, commercial, procurement and business teams.
- A practical, commercially minded approach to legal advice.
- Genuine interest in renewable energy and Australia's broader energy transition.
- Based in Sydney or Melbourne, with travel as required.
