Are you a lawyer fancying a pivot into a commercial role? This is an opportunity to take your property, land or real estate contracts experience in legal into the quick-growing energy and infrastructure sector, without needing an existing background in renewables.
As a newly created position, you'll have genuine ownership of the land contract's function and the opportunity to shape how agreements are managed across a significant project portfolio. This will also evolve into its own vertical on their org chart.
You'll gain exposure to major energy projects, work closely with senior commercial and development stakeholders and have a clear opportunity to broaden your experience beyond property into wider commercial leadership as the business continues to grow.
About the role
Vinova are working with a leading energy business seeking a Land Contracts Manager to join their team in Melbourne.
You'll take ownership of land-related contractual arrangements across a growing portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects, working closely with Development, Legal and Commercial teams as well as landowners and external advisers.
This is not a traditional conveyancing position. This is an opportunity for a Real Estate Lawyer to pivot and sit close to projects and commercial decision-making, with responsibility for progressing agreements, negotiating terms, tracking key obligations and identifying contractual risks.
Duties
- Manage options, leases, licences, easements, access agreements and wider land documentation
- Negotiate commercial terms with landowners, advisers and internal stakeholders
- Track contractual obligations, critical dates, risks and deliverables across the project portfolio
- Support Development, Legal and Commercial teams through land acquisition and project development
Skills / experience
- Strong experience across land contracts, property, real estate or development agreements
- Proven commercial negotiation and contract management capability
- Experience within property development, infrastructure, major projects or a related environment
- Ability to manage multiple agreements and stakeholders across a project portfolio
- Legal, property, commercial or other relevant tertiary qualification advantageous
