Structural Design Manager
Up to $220,000 + Super - Brisbane / QLD

A leading commercial builder is seeking an experienced Structural Design Manager to join its Brisbane team.

With a strong pipeline of major new build projects across Queensland, this is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of complex structures from design development through to construction. Working closely with project teams, consultants and subcontractors, you will take ownership of all structural design coordination, ensuring practical, buildable and cost-effective outcomes are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

This position would suit an experienced Structural Design Manager, Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer with a strong structural background looking to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

- Manage the structural design process from concept through to project completion
- Coordinate structural consultants, temporary works designers and key project stakeholders
- Drive design programmes, documentation and approvals to achieve project milestones
- Review designs for buildability, sequencing, risk and cost efficiency
- Work closely with Project Managers and Site Teams to resolve technical and construction challenges
- Coordinate temporary works, basement retention, foundations and structural methodologies




- Lead value engineering initiatives and identify opportunities for design optimisation
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards and contractual requirements

Requirements

- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Experience in a Structural Design Manager, Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer role within commercial construction
- Strong understanding of structural systems, temporary works and construction methodologies
- Experience delivering large-scale commercial, health, education, residential or mixed-use projects
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to drive consultants and coordinate multiple stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
