Our client is a growing commercial construction business specialising in fit out projects across Australia. With approximately 150 employees nationally, they've built a strong reputation in the market and have developed a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

With the current HR Manager relocating overseas, they are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join the business on an initial 12 month fixed term contract, with the potential to extend or become permanent.
To be successful in this role, you'll have previous HR experience within the construction industry and enjoy working in a fast paced, hands on environment.

This is a business where relationships matter. You'll work closely with leaders who value practical advice, commercial thinking and a hands on approach to people management.

About the role
Reporting to the National Managing Director and partnering with the Executive Leadership Team, you'll support approximately 70 employees across Sydney while playing a key role in the broader people strategy.

You'll have ownership across the full employee lifecycle, including:

- Recruitment and onboarding
- Employee relations and performance management
- Remuneration reviews and workforce reporting
- Learning and development initiatives
- Visa management
- Offboarding processes
- Culture and engagement activities




- Driving and embedding people processes through Employment Hero

This is a true generalist role where no two days are the same.

About you
You'll be a hands on HR qualified who enjoys working closely with leaders and influencing outcomes in a fast paced environment.

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

- HR experience within the construction industry
- Strong employee relations capability
- Experience supporting operational and project based workforces
- Confidence partnering with managers and business leaders
- A commercial mindset and ability to balance people and business outcomes
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can shift quickly
- The ability to build credibility and rapport quickly across all levels of the business
