The Opportunity Our client is an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its growing national civil team.

Based in either of their Sydney offices or Adelaide, you will lead the design and delivery of civil and stormwater engineering packages across a varied portfolio of industrial, commercial, residential, land development and infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on senior position offering genuine project ownership. You will manage projects from initial fee proposal and concept design through to approvals, detailed documentation and construction support. You will also coordinate with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities while providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and drafters.

Your Responsibilities
- Lead the civil engineering design and delivery of projects of varying size and complexity
- Coordinate engineers and drafters to produce accurate, consistent and high-quality documentation
- Undertake detailed stormwater drainage design using DRAINS and MUSIC
- Design WSUD, water-quality and on-site detention systems
- Complete site grading, bulk earthworks, pavement boxing and erosion and sediment-control designs
- Contribute to rigid and flexible pavement and retaining-wall design
- Prepare Basis of Design documentation and Stormwater Management Reports
- Manage projects from fee proposal and planning through to completion and billing
- Undertake QA reviews of engineering models, calculations, reports and drawings
- Liaise with clients, consultants, councils and regulatory authorities
- Monitor project programs, budgets, quality requirements and commercial outcomes
- Provide technical assistance during construction and help resolve engineering issues
- Mentor and support junior engineers and drafting team members




- Contribute ideas that improve design processes, systems and project-delivery efficiency

About You To be successful, you will ideally offer:

- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
- At least 10 years of relevant civil engineering experience
- Solid experience delivering civil and stormwater designs within an Australian consultancy environment
- Advanced working knowledge of DRAINS and MUSIC and Civil 3d will be highly regarded
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
- Demonstrated experience across drainage, WSUD, OSD, grading, earthworks and pavement design
- The ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets and deadlines
- Sound knowledge of Australian standards, statutory requirements and approval processes
- Commercial awareness, including experience preparing scopes and multidisciplinary fee proposals
- Strong client-management, communication and stakeholder-engagement skills
- Previous experience mentoring or managing junior technical staff
- A collaborative, reliable and solutions-focused approach
