The Opportunity
Our client is an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking a capable Civil Design Engineer to join its growing national team.

Based in one of their Sydney offices, or options to work from a base in Brisbane or Adelaide, you will contribute to the design and delivery of civil engineering packages across industrial, commercial, residential and land development projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level engineer looking to strengthen their technical experience, take greater ownership of projects and work alongside experienced senior engineers. You will be involved in projects from initial design through to detailed documentation and statutory approvals, coordinating with drafters, consultants and relevant authorities throughout the process.

Your Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering designs and coordinate with drafters to produce accurate, consistent and high-quality documentation
- Undertake detailed civil design using Civil 3D, including site grading, bulk earthworks, roads and pavement boxing
- Complete stormwater drainage design for roads, developments and car parks




- Design Water Sensitive Urban Design systems to achieve water-quality objectives
- Design on-site stormwater detention systems to meet discharge requirements
- Undertake modelling and design using DRAINS and MUSIC
- Prepare erosion and sediment-control plans
- Contribute to rigid and flexible pavement and retaining-wall designs
- Deliver work accurately, efficiently and in accordance with agreed programs
- Ensure designs comply with Australian standards, industry regulations and client requirements
- Liaise with councils, regulatory authorities and project stakeholders throughout the approval process
- Identify practical solutions to design challenges and contribute to improved project-delivery methods
- Take ownership of assigned projects while maintaining strong document-control standards

About You To be considered, you will ideally offer:

- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
- At least five years of relevant civil design experience
- Australian consulting experience across civil development or infrastructure projects
- Strong hands-on proficiency with Civil 3D
- Experience using DRAINS and MUSIC
- Practical knowledge of stormwater drainage, WSUD and OSD design
- Experience with grading, bulk earthworks, roads and pavement design
- An understanding of Australian standards and statutory approval requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A skilled, reliable and positive approach
