Could you be our next Production Welder?

Based at a busy reinforcing-steel manufacturing site in Bells Creek, near Corbould Park, this is a hands-on day-shift role working within the site's dedicated welding and prefabrication area.

You do not need to be a trade-qualified or certified welder. If you have practical welding skills, can produce consistent basic welds and are willing to learn the site's method, you'll receive hands-on training from a highly qualified and experienced welder.

This is a production welding role rather than high-spec specialist fabrication. You'll primarily complete repetitive spot and cage welding, helping keep day-to-day production moving while the senior welder focuses on certified fabrication and larger project work.

Your new role

- Complete repetitive production and spot welding
- Weld reinforcing-steel cages and related galvanized components
- Work across stock-cage and general prefabrication requirements
- Prepare, position and secure steel components before welding
- Follow the site's documented welding methods and instructions
- Read basic drawings, production tags and job requirements
- Complete dimensional and visual quality checks on finished work
- Work closely with the senior welder and follow their direction




- Learn to safely operate overhead cranes through structured training and competency sign-off
- Assist with material handling and general production tasks as required
- Follow exclusion zones, PPE requirements and site safety procedures
- Keep the welding bay clean, organised and free from hazards
- Raise questions or quality concerns before producing incorrect work

What you'll need

- Practical welding experience in a production, manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Alternatively, experience as a second-class welder, welding assistant or mechanically minded trade assistant
- The ability to complete consistent, safe basic welds
- No formal welding certification or trade qualification is required
- The ability to read basic drawings, tags and written work instructions
- Comfortable completing repetitive, hands-on work throughout the shift
- Able to safely handle steel and meet the physical requirements of the position
- Reliable transport and a dependable plan for the 5:00AM start
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is highly regarded but not essential

The reality of the role

- This is repetitive production and cage welding, not specialist coded welding
- Much of the work involves completing consistent welds across reinforcing-steel cages and components
- You'll initially work closely with an experienced welder and learn the required process
- You must be comfortable following established methods rather than doing the work your own way
- The wider site handles long and heavy steel, so safety, awareness and communication are essential
- Everyone contributes beyond one task, including material handling, housekeeping and general production support
- The role offers a genuine pathway into permanent employment for someone who performs consistently and fits the team
