About the role The role combines mechanical and plant engineering support with the real-time operation and monitoring of renewable energy assets. You will use your engineering knowledge to monitor plant performance, investigate equipment faults and abnormal operating conditions, support testing and commissioning activities, review equipment operating requirements and assist with the troubleshooting and ongoing operation of renewable energy plant and associated systems. The role operates within Proa's control room workplace and also involves monitoring asset performance through SCADA, energy management and electricity market systems.

You will work closely with site personnel, engineers, equipment suppliers, contractors and clients to investigate issues and support safe and reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

- Monitor the performance, condition and operating status of renewable energy plant and associated equipment.
- Investigate plant faults, equipment failures, abnormal operating behaviour and recurring technical issues.
- Analyse operational and equipment data to assist with fault identification and root-cause investigations.
- Support troubleshooting of renewable energy plant, battery energy storage equipment, balance-of-plant systems and associated monitoring and communications equipment.
- Review equipment operating limits, technical specifications, manufacturer requirements and operational constraints.
- Assist with the development and review of engineering procedures for plant operation, inspection, testing and maintenance.
- Support equipment inspections, technical assessments and in-person troubleshooting activities where required.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers,



contractors, site personnel and engineering teams regarding plant faults, maintenance requirements and corrective actions.
- Support testing and commissioning of new renewable energy assets, plant equipment and control systems.
- Monitor the operational status, availability and performance of solar, wind, battery energy storage and hybrid assets.

About you

- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application to industrial or energy infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical and methodical approach to equipment troubleshooting and fault investigation.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, operating requirements and equipment specifications.
- High attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in time-critical situations.
- Willingness and ability to participate in a rotating shift roster.
- Ability to provide both remote and in-person technical support when required.
