J&G; Maintenance Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Fitter to join our team in Robinvale, VIC. We look after and maintain all the irrigation infrastructure for Select, OFI, Brownport etc. doing everything from repairing stainless pipes to completing major rebuilds on river pumps as well as installing new pumps. In this position you will be working as part of a team and at times independently with a variety of maintenance and construction tasks.
The position is based in Robinvale Victoria, but we cover a wide range of area from Mildura, Nangiloc, Pomona to Hillston and Griffith area and will include overnight stays
What you'll be doing
- Removing, rebuilding and installing Dam pumps
- Removing, rebuilding and installing River pumps
- Removing, rebuilding and installing electric motors
- Maintaining Dam and river pump systems
- Poly pipe repairs
- Laser alignments
- Assist skilled tradespeople with a range of maintenance and construction tasks
- Perform manual labour duties such as digging, lifting, carrying and moving materials
- Operate and maintain basic tools and equipment
- Clean and tidy work sites to ensure a safe and organised environment
- Undertake any other duties as directed by your supervisors
- Some On-site welding with stick/mig
- Some Welding/fabrication in workshop
What we're looking for
- Australian citizen
- Immediate start
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks
- Willingness to learn and develop current skills
- Current manual driver's licence
- Welding/Fabrication experience will be an advantage but not essential
