Temp to Perm Opportunity | Monday–Friday | Waste Industry

We are currently seeking Medical Waste Drivers to join a growing waste management team based in Yatala / Stapylton. This is a physically active delivery and collection role within the healthcare and medical waste sector, offering ongoing work with the potential to transition from temporary to permanent employment for the right candidate.

About the Role

- Location: Yatala / Stapylton, QLD
- Pay Rate: $39.89 per hour + penalties
- Employment: 3-month temporary assignment with potential for permanent employment
- Roster: Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend and public holiday work
- Start Times: Variable starts between 12:00am and 5:00pm
- Typical Shift: 8–12 hours
- Overtime and applicable allowances paid in accordance with the relevant Waste Management Award

Key Responsibilities

- Safely collect and deliver medical waste bins to healthcare facilities and collection points
- Load and unload medical waste bins from the delivery vehicle
- Lift and move bins weighing up to 30kg
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely collections and deliveries
- Provide professional customer service at healthcare facilities
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors and other team members regarding deliveries, delays or issues
- Complete required vehicle and workplace procedures

This is not simply a point-A-to-point-B driving role. The position involves regular manual handling, loading and unloading, bending, standing and physical activity throughout the shift.

Essential Requirements

- HR Licence – automatic HR licence accepted




- Previous delivery driving experience is highly desirable
- Ability to safely lift and move bins weighing up to 30kg
- Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks throughout the shift
- Strong commitment to safety
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work variable start times and occasional weekends/public holidays

Forklift Licence is desirable but not essential.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful candidates will be required to complete:

- Site WH&S; induction prior to commencement
- Police Check
- DAS following successful Police Check
- Hepatitis A & B vaccinations following DAS clearance
- COVID-19 vaccination is preferred
