About the Opportunity As a Local Partner - Mental Health Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting people across the Bundaberg region to improve their wellbeing, build social connections, navigate services, and access the supports they need to thrive. This rewarding role focuses on community engagement, mental health promotion, digital inclusion, and strengthening pathways to support. This role is full time (76 hours per fortnight), in a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027.

What you'll be doing





- Make a positive difference in the mental health and wellbeing of people in the Bundaberg community.
- Support individuals to access the right services through information, referrals, and service navigation.
- Build strong connections with community groups, services, and support networks.
- Promote social inclusion and increase participation in community activities.
- Enhance social, emotional, and mental wellbeing through person-centred support.
- Raise awareness of digital safety and improve digital literacy skills.
- Assist people to overcome barriers and access supports that meet their individual needs.
- Work collaboratively to strengthen community capacity and improve local wellbeing outcomes

What we're looking for

- Certificate IV or higher in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in the mental health sector, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships.
- Experience delivering individual and group-based support to people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, with the ability to respond effectively in challenging situations.




- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining skilled and ethical standards, including client confidentiality.

What we're looking for

- Certificate IV or higher in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals and the factors that impact wellbeing and outcomes.
- Strong understanding of local support services and referral pathways, with the ability to connect people to appropriate supports.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals, groups, and stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating training, workshops, forums, or community events.
- Strong organisational, time management, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
