Role Description This part-time remote role combines Network Engineer and Systems Administrator responsibilities to support MIA’s technology infrastructure. The individual in this role will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network architectures to ensure high availability and performance of cloud-based services. Daily tasks include monitoring network health, diagnosing and resolving connectivity and performance issues, and optimizing configurations to support AI-driven applications.

The role will also involve managing network security controls, performing regular updates and patches, and collaborating with developers and operations teams to support deployments and integrations. Documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions is expected to maintain clear standards and support future growth.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design to plan, build, and optimize up-to-date, scalable network infrastructures.
- Hands-on experience in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring,



and maintenance of routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in Network Security practices, such as access control, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure remote access.
- Advanced Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network and systems issues efficiently across distributed, cloud-based environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtual networking is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration, scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and automation tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, Security+) and/or a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field are preferred but not required.
