Non Resi Withdrawal Nurse

Part time

0.5 EFT – 40 hours fortnight

(5 mornings per week)

A part time position is available for a non-resi AOD withdrawal nurse to join our enthusiastic team of Health Professionals in the counselling department at Swan Hill District Health.

The Position The primary role of the Non Resi withdrawal nurse is to work within the Counselling Servicesmultidisciplinary team providing assessment and provision of safe environment for clients seeking to withdrawal from or reduce the harms of the use of alcohol and other drugs. This role will focus on providing assessment, support, education and referrals for clients seeking support to reduce harmful drug use. Registered nurses with interest and/or experience in AOD withdrawal encouraged to apply.

You Bring

· Registered nurse division 1, registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a current practicing certificate

· Certificate IV in AOD or have completed the AOD core competencies, or able to complete in the first 12 months of employment.

· Ability to provide high quality engagement, assessment, treatment and support services to individuals and their families

· High level of communication skills

· Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team

Mandatory requirements (remove or add as per position description)

· Current National Police Check, or will to obtain.

· Working with Children’s Check, or will to obtain.

· NDIS worker screening check, or will to obtain.

· Evidence of immunisation records/history as part of the Health Services Act 1988, 2020 Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers).
