JT Education is hiring someone to build our new NSW EduTest Year 8-10 program now, and teach it from January 2027.

ABOUT US

At JT Education, our goal is to help students feel supported from the first step of their selective entry journey right through to the final selection decision. We want families to feel like they are getting real value, strong teaching, and genuine care along the way.

We are starting fresh with NSW EduTest Year 9 entry, with the aim of building something strong from the ground up and expanding from there. We are looking to grow our team and help as many students as we can with a supportive, high-quality learning experience.

Students and parents put a lot of trust in us, and we do not take that lightly. That is why we are looking for people who can bring both strong academic skills and a positive, friendly energy, and who understand what students are going through. As a team of alumni who have been through this process ourselves, we want to provide the kind of support we wish we had when we were in their shoes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for someone who is excited to tutor aspiring EduTest Year 9 students and take ownership of the academic side of the program. We want someone who can help students feel confident, supported, and ready to do their best. The role starts out focused on building the program, and moves into teaching it once classes begin.

HOW THE ROLE RUNS

This role runs in two stages:

Until January 2027, the work is building rather than teaching. You would take ownership of content creation and the overall structure of the program: designing what we teach, in what order, and with what materials.

From January 2027, the role is likely to shift towards tutoring, delivering the program you helped build to students preparing for EduTest Year 9 entry.

The rates differ between the two stages, so the earlier months are paid at the content rate and class delivery is paid at the higher rate once teaching begins.





WHAT THIS ACTUALLY INVOLVES

Until January 2027, mostly:

- Building content: writing and structuring the materials students will actually work from
- Designing the program: deciding what gets covered, in what order, and to what depth

From January 2027, likely shifting to:
- Teaching: breaking down tricky concepts into clear, manageable steps
- Mentoring: going beyond tutoring and genuinely guiding students with your experience
- Energy: bringing a positive, high-energy atmosphere so students actually want to come to class
- Growing: spotting where the program falls short and helping build the steps to fix it

IDEAL CANDIDATE

- 98+ ATAR
- Familiarity with the Edutest Year 8-10, OC or NSW selective preparation
- Interested in building a program
- Studying or holding a STEM-related degree, or strong subject expertise
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, student-focused workplace

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

This role is a great fit for someone who is genuinely invested in student success and in helping JT Education keep improving. We want people who are excited to help establish robust selection rates, refine the program, and build something better over time. Because you would be shaping the program before you teach it, there is more ownership here than a standard tutoring role offers.

OUR TEAM

Our team is made up of recent selective-school graduates and high performers who care a lot about helping the next cohort succeed. We really value alumni and people who understand what students are going through because they have been through it too.

COMPENSATION AND HOURS

- Class delivery: $65-50/hr (super inclusive)
- Content and other work: $35/hr (super inclusive)
- Meetings: $26/hr + super

Until January 2027, content and program design hours, agreed with you as the work requires. From January 2027, once classes start (per week):
- 5-10 hours of classes

- Working with Children Check (Preferred)
